Letter to his brother Charles, dated November 1, 1881, from Fort Custer, Montana Territory. Murray describes the hardships of the journey from New York to Montana, complains about the difficulty of life in the cavalry, asks his brother for help buying dentistry tools, and mentions plans for an expedition against Cree and other Indians.
